10 Brilliant Musical Movie Moments That Caught You Completely Off Guard

9. Dolphin Song €“ Bedazzled

http://vimeo.com/812157 Bedazzled is a 2000 fantasy-comedy film starring Brendan Fraser and Elizabeth Hurley. The film sees a nerdy, low-self-esteemed, technical support worker (played by Fraser) make a Faustian pact with the devil (played by Hurley) in order to win over the girl of his dreams, Alison (played by Frances O'Connor). The film has numerous settings, as Brendan Fraser's character Elliot takes on different personas courtesy of the devil. The twist in the story is that each persona which Elliot takes on has a significant flaw. Where he wishes to be rich and powerful, the devil makes him a Colombian drug lord. The wish ends spectacularly as the hapless Elliot becomes engulfed in an international crime-ring gun-battle. The second wish of Elliot is that he is to become emotionally sensitive, so he can understand the needs of women. But in keeping with the theme of the film, the emotionally sensitive Elliot becomes an over-sensitive, over-emotional hyper-Romantic. He gets caught up in his love for Alison, and in one of the many highlights of the film, sings her an impromptu song about dolphins whilst strumming a ukulele and making Dolphin noises. The scene ends with him breaking down in tears over a beautiful sunset.

I like writing about films and hope you like reading about them too. And watching them, of course.
