10 Brilliantly Stupid TV Guide Descriptions Of Classic Movies

7. Mary Shelley's Frankenstein

You know the story of Frankenstein, right? Actually maybe you don€™t. This is the first film to stay true to Mary Shelley€™s original novel. It€™s the classic story the way it was meant to be told. With De Niro.
This writer really appreciates Robert De Niro. He might not appreciate what Frankenstein is really about but it obviously doesn't matter when Robert De Niro is starring in the film. De Niro in any film makes it the definitive adaptation of all time. If the Lord Of The Rings was remade with Robert De Niro playing Frodo Baggins, the Peter Jackson films would be cast by the wayside in a heartbeat. On the other hand, this might be one of the worst movie descriptions of all time. If someone is planning to sit down to to watch a film called Frankenstein, then they are very likely to know it is about a mad scientist that creates a monster in a lab. It won't be about a boy who discovers he is a wizard on his eleventh birthday. Mind you, if Robert De Niro was playing Harry Potter, then the remake of JK Rowling's beloved saga would be even more awesome.
