10 British Actors (Who Weren't In Harry Potter) That Should Be In Fantastic Beasts
8. Daniel Kaluuya
Daniel Kaluuya's career began in the latter years of the Potter franchise, playing the role of Posh Kenneth on the hit show Skins, so it's not surprising he never got a chance at a role then.
Even now, he has only just taken the spotlight. After supporting roles in Johnny English Reborn, Kick-Ass 2 and Sicario, this year's Get Out finally allowed him to take centre stage and anchor an already fantastic movie. Though Jordan Peele's direction is ultimately the star of that movie, Kaluuya's performance carries the tension and dread perfectly.
From there, Kaluuya is already primed for big projects in the future: he's got a supporting role in next year's Marvel blockbuster Black Panther, as well as a part in 12 Years a Slave director Steve McQueen's new thriller Widows. But for him to really cement himself, a major role in a big franchise could shoot him to even greater heights.
He may be a bit younger than series lead Eddie Redmayne, but he has a confidence and a demeanour beyond his years. He could definitely work as a former schoolmate of Newt Scamander, their lives now colliding in the present and forced into helping the weird boy expelled from Hogwarts. Or, if he wants to take a villainous turn, perhaps he could play one of Grindelwald's loyal supporters.
After generally playing good guy roles, it'd be interesting to see him take a walk on the wicked side.
