10 British Actors (Who Weren't In Harry Potter) That Should Be In Fantastic Beasts
7. Riz Ahmed
The Harry Potter series didn't have much representation for actors of Indian or Middle Eastern descent. There were the Patil sisters, and...that's about it, really. But there's no better time than the present to try and rectify this, and there's a bevy of talented actors to choose from. One of the most prominent is Riz Ahmed.
Rising to prominence in the midst of Potter in British indie flicks like Shifty and Four Lions, Ahmed has finally begun to gain international recognition. His supporting turn as Jake Gyllenhaal's reluctant assistant Rick in Nightcrawler was a revelation, and he's continued to build on that success with a starring role in the hit HBO miniseries The Night Of, as well as key supporting roles in blockbusters like Jason Bourne and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
Riz Ahmed's range gives him a plethora of options within the Wizarding World. He could be an Auror, one of Grindelwald's supporters, a Mundungus Fletcher-type somewhere in the middle, or maybe he could another Muggle in the Jacob Kowalski vein who finds himself caught up in the adventure. Whatever the role, Ahmed is exactly the type of young actor this franchise should be looking for.
