4. Danny John-Jules - Blade II
New Line CinemaAs the middle entry of the first Marvel franchise to make the successful transition to the silver screen, Blade II has enough names associated with it that should have ensured it's relevance alongside the current Marvel offerings. A relatively early work from it's writer and director, two film-makers who have gone on to much bigger and better things, not only was it directed by Guillermo del Toro, but on script duties was The Dark Knight trilogy's David S. Goyer. Although Death In Paradise is hardly Pacific Rim, just because Danny John-Jules hasn' moved onto bigger things, this doesn't stop him from being remembered as British comedy's favourite feline. No stranger to sharp teeth, here though he trades those of Cat for those of the vampire Asad: emissary-cum-warrior and member of the Bloodpack, a ragtag group of vampiric soldiers initially recruited to hunt and kill blade himself. The majority of screen time may have been given up to bigger stars Wesley Snipes and frequent del Toro collaborator Ron Perlman, John-Jules (or possibly a stunt double) does still find enough time for his own piece of ass-kicking in the spotlight.
