10 Brutal Movies With The Biggest Body Counts

4. The Expendables 2

Gerard Butler 300
Lionsgate

Estimated Body Count: 489

The second Expendables film offers up just a few more corpses than the third, but given that The Expendables 3 was rated PG-13, it can in no way qualify as "brutal."

Thankfully the R-rated Expendables 2 is basically a glorified montage of hilariously over-the-top kills.

It is a film that begins with Lee Christmas (Jason Statham) mowing down literally dozens of anonymous goons with a mounted machine-gun turret, moves on to have the titular mercenary team blow up a bridge with at least 50 soldiers on it, have Chuck freaking Norris kill about 50 men single-handedly in his introductory scene, and climax with an airport shootout where more than 130 guns-for-hire are rubbed out.

It is exactly the tribute to ultra-violent excess that the first movie should've been, really, given that the original Expendables touts less than half the kills of this sequel. Boo.
