No, not that one.

In the down period before Christopher Nolan's Batman Begins revived the Batman franchise, there were a fair few options in the air, including Darren Aronofsky's bonkers Year One take. Slightly less shocking was Se7en writer Andrew Kevin Walker's Batman Vs Superman, which revived an idea that was first mentioned in the '90s before Christopher Reeve's catastrophic injury ended it.

Akiva Goldsman turned Walker's treatment into a screenplay in 2002 and Wolfgang Petersen was set to direct it. Intriguingly, it would have continued Tim Burton and Joel Schumacher's universe, only with the supporting cast removed and The Joker resurrected.

The plot saw him killing the newly retired Batman's wife, Elizabeth, on their honeymoon, which Batman blames on his best man, Superman for his failure to stop Mr J. They'd then fight, before resolving their issues to team-up once more and take down The Joker and Lex Luthor.

Johnny Depp and Colin Farrell were both considered, in the end Josh Hartnett was offered Superman and Christian Bale was approached to play Batman. However, when Petersen moved on to Troy, Warner Bros cancelled the project in favour of concentrating on Aronofsky's project and JJ Abrams Superman: Flyby.
