10 Cancelled Horror Movies That Could Have Been Legendary

8. You're Next 2

You're Next
Lions Gate Films

2011's You're Next is one of the best made indie films of the last decade or so, with everything from Adam Wingard's direction, Simon Barrett's writing and Sharni Vinson's acting as lead girl Erin all coming together to produce a film that is dark and gory, as well as clever and comedic.

The plot of the film is essentially the same as most slashers, with a family coming together at a large house out of town and gradually being picked off by a group of killers until they're left to face off against one final girl. However, most of the scenes featuring the family members feature some kind of improvisation which gives the film a nice natural feel to it, and Erin's awesome badassery skills as the final girl makes for an entertaining change, even going on to win top spot for Total Film's 50 Most Bad-Ass Female Horror Leads.

Unfortunately, there's never been a follow-up to the film at the time of writing. You're Next grossed nearly $27 million against a budget of just $1m, however the planned sequel revolving around Erin's arrest and subsequent escape from jail looks to be dead in the water for most parties at this point.
