10 Cancelled Horror Movies That Could Have Been Legendary
5. Final Destination 6 And 7
The Final Destination series has a pretty notorious reputation for its outlandish disasters and elaborate ways of killing its characters, with the gore across the movies slowly being ramped up as the franchise's box office began to drop.
Following on from the noticeable drop in quality brought about by the series' third and fourth films, Final Destination 5 stripped everything back and feels a lot more like an immediate sequel to the original. Final 5 benefits from much better direction from behind the cameras, the CGI is night and day in comparison to the previous instalment and the characters are much more deserving of audience's attention than those that came before. It's smart conclusion also seems to wrap up the continuity of the film's universe nicely, tying in back to the first film in a truly shocking way.
Despite this, both Steven Quale and Tony Todd expressed interest in keeping the series alive with back to back films if Final Destination 5 performed well enough. Whilst the film remains one of the few in the series to receive positive reviews and became the second highest grossing out of the five, it looks like the original collection has been halted just as they were beginning to hit their flow.
