10 Cancelled Movies That Would Have Made Billions

2. The Godfather: Part IV

Paramount Pictures

Everybody's thinking the same thing, of course: "No more Godfather movies. For the love of all that is holy." Still, had this thing been released a few years after The Godfather: Part III, when everything had finally settled down, and you're potentially looking at a movie worthy of a billion bucks - especially if it had been marketed right, and didn't feature Sofia Coppola in a starring role (ah-ha!).

It might strike some people as strange and surprising The Godfather: Part IV was ever even considered by anyone with a working brain, but Francis Ford Coppola genuinely thought about getting on board with this project at an unspecified date (and as late as 1999). The plot was said to hone in on Vincent's (Andy Garcia) reign as head of the Corleone family after the events of the third movie.

Even if you released this movie now, it could still pull in the punters. Come on; you'd go and see it, wouldn't you? The suspense would just kill you dead otherwise. Also: Leonardo DiCaprio once talked about appearing in this movie. Should it ever happen, that would pretty much assure a billion dollars in the bank, given his status as, you know, the world's biggest film star.
