10 Casting Decisions The Dark Tower Film Must Get Right

5. Jack Mort

The apptly named Jack Mort is a killer in our world, a sadistic sociopath who commits random acts of violence against total strangers; random acts that unknowingly shape the lives of many of Roland's companions, especially Jake Chambers and Susannah Dean. Mort's methods of murder rarely result in direct confrontation, instead he prefers to drop heavy objects onto people's heads or push them in front of trains or into traffic. As a result, Mort is not caught and continues living his life as a meticulous accountant. Ideal Casting: Zachary Quinto The Heroes and Star Trek actor has played a serial killer before in American Horror Story and there's no reason why he could bring his quiet brand of menace to The Dark Tower. Back Up Casting: Jake Busey I mentioned Gary Busey as a potential Dandelo in a previous entry before dismissing it, but his son Jake might be a good fit for Jack Mort (though perhaps he's too unpredictable to play a killer known for his meticulous planning).
