4. George Harrison - Monty Python's Life Of Brian
When Chairman of EMI, Lord Delfont, rejected the film Monthy Python: Life of Brian in 1978, the cast and crew were left scrambling to raise the £2 million needed to make it still happen.
Thanks to the generosity of donors such as Beatles member George Harrison, the British comedy was saved, and the film was produced. He even remortgaged his mansion to make this film happen and save British cinema.
As a thank, you for his generous help on the financial side of things, the writers of the Month Python episode decided to have the Beatles member feature in the film itself. This controversial film followed the story of Brian Cohen (played by Chapman), a Jewish-Roman man who was born on the exact same day and only one door away from the prophesied Messiah Jesus.
The film came under a lot of heat from critics and was banned in a number of countries but still managed to become a huge box office success and was the fourth-highest-grossing film in the United Kingdom in 1979.
Harrison had apparently been a long-time fan of the film series and was honoured to play the minor role of Mr Papadopoulos, where he shakes hands with Brian and says “'ullo.”
