10 CGI Moments In Recent Movies You DEFINITELY Missed

4. Michael's Knife - Halloween Ends

The Halloween franchise by its sheer nature hasn't relied much on visual effects trickery throughout its tenure, and the recent David Gordon Green films are certainly no exception.

Yet while it's never been officially confirmed by anybody involved with Halloween Ends, some fans pointed out that the threequel used CGI knives for a number of shots in which Michael Myers (James Jude Courtney) slaughters his victims.

This is perhaps most noticeable half-way through the movie when Michael stabs a cop (Jesse C. Boyd) to death while Corey (Rohan Campbell) restrains him.

The motion of the knife looks a little unnatural, as though somebody keyframe-animated it, presumably because director David Gordon Green wanted a more brutal knife strike than could be safely achieved practically.

The low lighting in the scene helps cover it up well enough, though if you watch it at half-speed it's easier to spot the artificiality.

Still, at least it's nowhere near as bad as Halloween H20's infamous CGI Michael Myers mask, right?
