10 CGI Moments In The MCU We All Missed

4. Goose – Captain Marvel

Due to Captain Marvel's shapeshifting aliens and space battles, it's easy to understand why the 21st entry in the MCU cost up to $175 million.

Bizarrely, one element that ate up a sizeable chunk of the budget was the cat, Goose. Because Goose is eventually revealed to be a tentacled alien called a Flerken, you'd assume that's why the kitty's scenes were so expensive.

But there's a more mundane reason why this little tabby bloated the budget - allergies. Because our lead star, Brie Larson, is allergic to fur, CGI had to be used in every scene where she was in proximity with Goose. (Also, what are the chances of Marvel hiring an actress allergic to cats the ONE TIME a feline was used as a plot device??)

Even when Larson wasn't in shot, VFX technician, Chris Townsend, used a digital cat 80% of the time since their furry star sometimes refused to do the scene. (I know. Divas.) Not only were most viewers oblivious to these visuals, even the directors couldn't tell which scenes of the cat were genuine.
