Apocalypse is confirmed as the titular villain of this film. You can't have Apocalypse without including his right-hand man, Mr. Sinister. If that wasn't enough to convince you that this character will make his film debut in the sequel, then how about the inclusion of Gambit, who shares quite a twisted history with the sadistic geneticist? In the AOA comics, Sinister is one of Apocalypse's Four Horsemen and is also the adoptive father of Havok and Cyclops. This could prove to be an interesting plot in the film if Cyclops is to be introduced alongside Havok, who is in DOFP and working alongside Mystique (someone else who has run afoul of Sinister before in the comics). An elaborate villain that's visually stunning and terrifying at the same time, this kind of villain could add a majestic aura that no other character has brought to the table yet. Not only that, but Mr. Sinister's appearance and involvement opens the door for many other storylines in future sequels further down the road thanks to his interest in cloning and his obsession with the Summers family tree; perhaps the X-Men could even find themselves traveling to the Savageland to battle Sinister at his secret base of operations. With Sinister introduced in Apocalypse, he could be utilized further in Gambit's future solo outings as Gambit's own personal "big bad." Like this article? Who do you think or want to appear?
