10 Characters That Could Appear In X-Men: Apocalypse

2. The Real First Class

With most of the actors from First Class only contractually-obligated to one more X-Men film, and talk going around that Mystique may end up with her own spin-off, other characters are going to be needed to anchor and guide the franchise ... and what better selections than the actual First Class from the comics: Marvel Girl, Cyclops, Beast, Iceman, and Angel. The films have already drastically skewered the source material and that will never be changed unless a reboot occurs. With Beast already being introduced, why not include the others to round out the original five and give the fans what they really want to see? With the introduction of Marvel Girl and Cyclops, the film and subsequent sequels could track the relationship between the two and all their subsequent drama and pitfalls; the film could also explore the relationship the two have with Professor X. as both demonstrated that they were very close to Xavier, seeing him as a father figure and a mentor in the first X-Men film. Cyclops' tumultuous relationship with his brother Havok can also be highlighted as well as Marvel Girl's inability to harness her power and obvious signs hinting at her eventual rise as The Phoenix. Iceman could provide some much needed comic relief and stunning visuals with his mutant abilities while Angel's path would prove to be the most interesting out of the original five in Apocalypse. The film probably won't have the time to introduce Angel, show him having his wings mutilated and then amputated, and then turn him into Archangel and have time to redeem him in the end like in the comics. It would be wise to just cut to the chase and have Archangel come flying right out of the gate in the beginning as one of the Four Horsemen, with the X-Men defeating him as a minor villain and then recruiting him, effectively turning him against Mr. Sinister and Apocalypse, giving X-Fans a sense of victory and triumph in watching, for the first time, the original five X-Men standing on-screen together as a united team at the close of the film.
