10 Characters That Need To Be Introduced In Future DC Movies
3. Hawkwoman
Previously known as Hawkgirl, for many Shayera Hol is the iconic version of a Hawkperson (no rick and morty reference intended) because of the Justice League cartoon, and more recently TV's Legends of Tomorrow.
Far from a wonder woman clone, her original origin story would make for a unique solo movie. If Green Lantern Corps is going to be a Lethal Weapon-style buddy cop movie, then a Hawkwoman movie could be the equivalent of End of Watch or Dredd.
Using her first origin story, as an orphan raised by her grandfather in the ghettos of Thanagar who becomes a police officer betrayed by her partner Hawkman, we have a down-and-dirty, urban-level grizzled cop haunted by her partner's betrayal and her impoverished childhood, but in a cosmic context. Shayera is arguably more of a badass than Wonder Woman.
Less obscure to general audiences than some over the other characters on this list, Shayera poses a challenge to fellow aliens Superman Wonder Woman, but also an ally to whichever Green Lantern joins the Justice League. She may have to join them reluctantly, or want to operate as an outsider, only helping them in order to serve out justice to her traitorous ex-partner.
With motivation like that, it wouldn't be surprising to see Batman getting on well with her!
