10 Characters That Single-Handedly Ruined Recent Movies

8. Safin - No Time To Die

Safin No Time To Die

Safin (Rami Malek) is one of the worst Bond villains ever. Seriously.

Not only is he far too derivative of past Bond villains, but he has no personality, he barely even appears and the way in which he suddenly swung from wanting revenge on Spectre to wanting to kill millions was just ridiculous. Also, it will never, ever be believable that this garden-variety villain was the guy who single-handedly destroyed Spectre and killed James Bond (Daniel Craig) himself.

Even though No Time to Die is definitely the best film discussed on this list by a country mile, it would've been so, so much better had the film either fixed this character or just had Christoph Waltz's Blofeld as the lead villain; after all, Blofeld was the one who really felt like a true threat and he was the one who had a past connection to Bond.

Because this villain was so unconvincing, nothing about No Time to Die's action storyline feels truly suspenseful or believable. Instead, the emotional impact of Bond's demise is undermined by the fact that he was killed by some random villain he'd never met before, rather than someone with actual personal significance.

Retrospectively, the inadequacy of this villain confirms that No Time to Die is a long, long way from the upper-tier Bond film some described it as. Honestly, it's the worst of the Daniel Craig Bond films; Quantum of Solace and Spectre are both far superior.
