10 Characters The DCEU Wishes It Could've Introduced Differently

6. Harley Quinn

I'll keep this short. If DC had known what a pop culture phenomenon Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn was going to be (I literally went as her for Halloween), and what an unmitigated critical disaster Suicide Squad was going to be, they'd have kept them as far apart as humanly possible.

Ok, yes, it made a lot of money and, yes, the sequel looks like being excellent, but internally at DC the movie was a disaster. Staying committed to the Birds of Prey movie was a monumental decision on their part, and one that was only arrived at when the premise of "let's literally make the marketing about how she's her own character now" was successfully pitched.

Like Wonder Woman before her, Harley's been one of the few genuine bright spots in the whole project. Had anybody quite anticipated the breakout success she'd have been then her introduction would have been handled so that she wasn't then having to be fished out of a toilet bowl and dusted off for her own movies.
