10 Characters Who Should Appear In Spider-Man: Homecoming

1. Mary-Jane Watson

Spider-Man Characters
Marvel Comics

In the realm of Peter’s love interests, there’s only really ever been one for him. Liz Allan, Betty Brant and Gwen Stacy were all important to him, but Mary-Jane is the most essential person to his private life. And after a break from her character in the Andrew Garfield movies, it’s time to bring her back.

Mary-Jane is more than just a girlfriend, she’s the woman who will become Spider-Man's reason to fight. She's the one who takes care of him and brings out his most exuberant, confident self. More than a crush or a fling, she’s his destiny.

Their history in the comics is undeniable. This is such an iconic couple and the MCU has fared very well at handling those sorts of dynamic pairings so far. Peggy Carter made Cap's story more heartbreaking and Pepper Potts helped humanize Tony Stark. Adding a similar romantic layer to Peter's life would seem like an almost require complication.

After all, how amazing would it be to hear “Face it tiger, you just hit the jackpot,” spoken at the end of Homecoming?
