10 Christian Perspectives On 2015's Movies

5. Fifty Shades Of Grey - "A Corrupted View Of Sexuality!"

Leviticus takes a dim view of premarital sex, which it claims is no better than adultery, homosexuality, incest or bestiality. In each case, the verdict is the same: “They shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them.”

In Matthew 5:27-28, Christ expands this to include lustful glances directed towards members of the opposite sex: “Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery, but I say unto you that whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.”

50 Shades Of Grey’s “S&M romance” does for bondage what Deep Throat did for porn and brings it into the mainstream, much to the chagrin of Christian viewers. One religious website pointed out that while sex was natural, so were death and malaria. That’s something even secular viewers can relate to.
