10 Classic Books That Should Be Adapted

2. Crito, Phaedo & Apology

url-12 Crito and Phaedo are two of the platonic dialogues that deal with the trail and execution of Socrates. Crito takes place before his execution as Socrate's friend Crito tries to convince him to escape. Phaedo shows Socrate's discussions with his followers the day of his execution and Apology is Socrates defense of himself at the trial. A film adaption would have to pick and choose from these three dialogues as well as a few others that deal with the same topic, but it could easily be streamlined into a film. Socrates would have to be cast well and it would be difficult to find the right balance between the philosophy of Socrates and the actual events leading up to and following the trial but if done correctly, a Socrates movie could be extremely interesting.

I love movies, literature, history, music and the NBA. I love all things nerdy including but not limited to Star Wars, Star Trek, Lord of the Rings, and Firefly. My artistic idols are Dylan, Dostoevsky, and Malick and my goal in life is to become like Bernard Black from Black Books. When I die, I hope to turn into the space baby from 2001: A Space Odyssey.
