10 Classic Films That Should Be Remade
3. The Breakfast Club
A lot of the charm that comes from this classic teenage feel-good feature is the period that it is set in, with the eighties style that it emits being loveable and bringing a nostalgic feeling to the title. With that being said, it still feels like this is a perfect film to be brought into the 21st century.
The idea of taking this classic story and putting it in the modern world brings in a wealth of potential new directions that the story could go in. There are so many issues facing the youth of today that weren't relevant in the eighties, such as the pressures of social media, and an updated version of this flick with such pervasive modern issues in mind would breathe new life into it.
The philosophy of the film is heart-breaking but truthful, as it explores the boundaries and cliched roles that young adults are compelled to fall into, even though they have personalities and behaviours outside of these traits. In the current climate, this is still an issue that deserves to be addressed.
It's a wonderfully wholesome, and honest experience that many young adults today could benefit from hearing.
