10 Classic Movies Extended Only By Stupid Villain Decisions

7. Two Firms Give Married Assassins Reason To Gang Up On Them - Mr. & Mrs. Smith

Mr. & Mrs. Smith is a touching tale of a married couple, going through a rough patch, who both happen to be top assassins working for different people. When their firms one day pit the pair against each other, they realise that they love each other too much to kill one another, so plot against the evil corporations; it's a lot like Bourne, except not as thrilling. What the employers are so stupidly forgetting though, is that Mr. and Mrs. Smith are married. If you found out that your boss had organised for you to kill someone, and you turned up to see that it was your partner, you probably wouldn't do it. Despite how much you'd like to some days. But that's not the most stupid decision they made; these are trained assassins who know each other really, really well. Are they not just going to turn on you? It's their job to eliminate people in power. Maybe the daftest part of the film though, is the sequence in which both of them actually consider killing one another before realising that no, wait, they're in love. I'm not a relationship expert, but it can't be a good sign for your marriage when you have to decide whether to kill your partner or not.
