The Coen Brothers are definitely an acquired taste and their films consistently elicit love or hate it responses, but it’s undeniable that since their debut Blood Simple in 1984 through films like The Big Lebowski, O Brother, Where art Thou? and No Country For Old Men, the familial directing duo have crafted a truly unique body of work characterised by stunning cinematography, quirky but real characters, witty dialogue and genre mash-ups and Fargo, embodying all these Coen Brother idiosyncrasies, is up there with their best movies.
