10 Cloverfield Lane: 9 Easter Eggs, In-Jokes And References

6. Slusho

Slusho is the emblem of the original Cloverfield. First seen in the film's teaser trailer, it played an essential part in the movie's viral marketing, owned by the parent company that awoke the monster. Such a potent image, the slushie has since popped up in Lost, Fringe, Heroes and Star Trek (among others). And, of course, it makes an appearance in 10 Cloverfield Lane. Abrams could have pushed for a prominent use in the bunker, but instead it's incredibly well hidden, seen only briefly as a sign at the Kelvin garage. That wasn't the only soft drink to feature in the film - during an awkward dinner scene early on the group drink Swamp Pop, a real company who appear to have gamely got involved in the viral marketing.
