David O. Russell has gained a reputation for being one of the most talented directors in Hollywood at the moment - he was the brains behind brilliant films The Fighter, Silver Linings Playbook and American Hustle. The 56-year-old is also equally known for his violent temper and generally being difficult to work alongside. Russell's first high-profile feud was with George Clooney on the set of his 1999 movie Three Kings. The former ER heartthrob apparently took offence to the director's treatment of various crew members, and a physical altercation took place. Both men still have little time for each other, with Clooney saying he would sock Russell in the f***ing mouth if he saw him. On the set of I Heart Huckabees in 2004, Russell's foul-mouthed rant at actress Lily Tomlin was caught on camera, and it remains a YouTube hit to this day. They are the two most memorable squabbles, but there have been numerous others down the years. Despite this, the majority of actors who work under Russell now are incredibly complimentary about him.
