7. Louis C.K. - Louie
I've written about Louie in the past, so those of you who are huge fans of that article, basically know my opinion of the series. Hint: I very much like it. Louis C.K., the guy that made me a fan of stand-up, stars as an exaggerated version of himself, living the life of a comedian and a father. It's a simple show really, but like nothing you've seen before. It's surreal, yet real, it's edgy, funny, dramatic, it's everything you'd expect from C.K. And, despite past performances in bad movies, Louis is actually a pretty great actor. His performances are nuanced, subtle, and often poignant. Granted, he's playing himself, which might not be too challenging, but it's still an interesting take on his own life. Since the show became popular, he's been getting more work, including a role in Woody Allen's next film. In other words, he's doing something right.
