4. David Cross - Arrested Development
Another comedian (and former roommate of Louis C.K.), David Cross has a cult following in the comedy world. From his days working on Mr. Show with Bob Odenkirk, to his three comedy albums, David Cross is a legend in the industry. But his best work, and probably what you'd recognize him most for, is his supporting role in Arrested Development. In the series, Cross plays Tobias Funke, the never-nude, possibly gay, definitely idiotic, brother-in-law of Michael Bluth, the series' protagonist. For me, Cross is the highlight of the show, and he absolutely garners the most laughs. His habit to misunderstand his own statements, often become some of the most memorable moments of the show. Even more impressive, unlike some of my other choices, Cross is playing a character that is strikingly different from his actually personality. Those sketch comedy classes in college must have really paid off.
