You may have gotten used to the sight of Chris Pratt cracking wise whilst simultaneously fending off genetically altered dinosaurs and various supervillians over the last few years, but it wasn't too long ago that the star was most commonly known for his performance as Andy Dwyer in Parks and Recreation.

As the loveable idiot of the show, Pratt didn't exactly require washboard abs or pecs as hard as steel to play Dwyer on the show, so he had no reason to alter the physique which brought him to the dance. However, his body was about to be taken on a rollercoaster of a ride in the wake of being cast as Star Lord/Peter Quill in Guardians of the Galaxy.

After weighing in at around 300 lbs during his audition for the role, Pratt was able to drop 60lbs in six months before stepping into the world of the MCU for the very first time. In Pratt's own words, it took "three or four hours a day of just consistent, ass-kicking hard work" to get him into superhero shape, with the star keeping himself action star ready ever since.
