10 Comic Book Characters That Movies Totally Butchered

3. Judge Dredd (Judge Dredd)

Here's one that was doomed from the start. Getting Sylvester Stallone to play the fan favourite right-wing law-keeper was not a great idea, if only because his enormous star power meant that the studio wasn't keen for Stallone to keep the helmet on for the entirety of the movie, as was sort of a demand of the comic. The comic's darkly satirical social commentary and graphic violence was lost on this meek treatment, which couldn't stick to a tone, and committed the cardinal sin of casting Rob Schneider... The corny dialogue didn't help either, and it wasn't until last year, when Karl Urban put on the helmet that we actually got the Dredd we had been looking for all these years.
