5. Getting Involved At All - Green Lantern
There are minor mistakes on this list like continuity errors that realistically don’t actually affect too much, and bigger ones that went a long way to ruin the entire movie. There is one comic book movie creator however, who believes it was a mistake for him to direct the movie at all.
The problems with Green Lantern are infamous at this point, with Ryan Reynolds himself even going out of his way to poke fun at the 2011 DC outing whenever he gets the chance. It is not looked back on fondly by anyone, including the man in the director’s chair, Martin Campbell.
In a 2021 interview, Campbell took full responsibility for the movie’s failings, and honestly admitted that he should never have taken the job in the first place. Superhero movies aren’t his cup of tea, so naturally it was going to be difficult for him to create something that he himself generally didn't enjoy.
Even so, it feels as though with the studio interference Warner Bros. has become famous for in the realms of DC movies, a different director at the helm probably wouldn’t have made too much of a difference.
