10 Comic Book Movie Mistakes Confirmed By The Creators
4. Not Rebooting The Franchise - Superman Returns
Superman is without question one of the most, if not the most famous and iconic superheroes of all time. The Man of Steel’s luck on the big screen however has been far more hit-and-miss, certainly not living up to the character from the source material pages.
Throughout several different adaptations of the character, Clark Kent has been received differently each time, though most fans would argue that one of the weakest entries in the Superman catalogue is Bryan Singer’s Superman Returns.
The director behind both X-Men and X2 made the jump to DC and in looking back on the 2006 movie has claimed that there is a lot that he would change. Not least of these changes would have been to completely reboot the franchise rather than further the continuity of Superman: The Movie and Superman II.
Though the director also claimed that likely nothing would have saved the movie from the wrath of fans, cutting out the first quarter of the film and bringing to the screen an entirely new version of the character would have been top of his list.
