2. Not Making The Joker The Main Villain - Suicide Squad

The early days of the DCEU in particular were filled with huge disappointments. While Man of Steel was certainly divisive, the likes of Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Justice League couldn’t have made a worse impression on fans.

Suicide Squad however, may have them both beat as the most disappointing DCEU movie ever, and that is really saying something. The trailers made David Ayer’s movie look incredible, not least because of the debut of Jared Leto's version of the Joker.

As part of the laundry list of things wrong with the film, fans were disappointed in Jared Leto’s Clown Prince of Crime. While some didn’t like his take on the character at all, others were annoyed that after being bigged up so much in the build-up, his time on screen was pitifully small.

This is something director David Ayer still regrets. The antagonists of the movie, Enchantress and Incubus, for a lack of a better word were awful, and while having the Joker as the main villain wouldn’t have saved the movie from its fair criticisms, it would have certainly made it better.
