10 Comic Book Movie Moments That Felt More Like Horror Movies
7. Emil Blonsky Smashes Into A Tree (The Incredible Hulk)
At Culver University in Willowsdale, Virginia, an on-the-run Bruce Banner shows up and reunites with his former lover Betty Ross. Whilst he is there, he is discovered by the military and attacked by the forces of General Thaddeus Thunderbolt Ross, led by Emil Blonsky (they had been advised by Bettys suspicious other half, Leonard Samson, that Banner might be coming). During the military's attempts to apprehend him, Banner turns in to the Hulk and a fight breaks out on university property. The military can't defeat the super-powered green giant and Ross orders a retreat. However, Blonsky cockily ignores Ross, approaches the Hulk and says "is that all you've got?" Consequently, with one sickeningly brutal kick, Hulk smashes Blonsky in to a nearby tree. The uncut version of the movie shows the brutal impact - which shatters every bone in Blonsky's body - and is reminiscent of a death scene in a Jason Voorhees movie. Obviously, this explains its exclusion from most versions of the film, especially when broadcast pre-watershed.
