10 Comic Book Movie Plots That Rely On Idiotic Decisions

9. Ross Webster Recruits Gus Gorman To Help Him Rule The World (Superman III)

After Gus Gorman embezzled Ross Webster's company using his computer skills to take a tiny amount of money from every account to make himself rich - a technique known as salami slicing - rather than being annoyed, Ross Webster was impressed. So impressed was Webster, in fact, that he wanted to utilise Gorman in his villainous scheme to rule the world financially. However, he clearly didn't take much notice of what Gorman was actually like. First of all, he was extremely lazy. Second of all, he was incompetent at pretty much everything else. Finally, he was actually a pretty decent guy deep down and it was therefore inevitable that he would not be able to go through with helping someone with a scheme that involved hurting others and going up against the heroic Superman. As a result of his recruitment of Gorman, Webster's plans failed - largely due to the fact that Gorman became guilt-ridden and horrified by the prospect of "going down in history as the man who killed Superman".
