Who knows if the Guardians Of The Galaxy are finally going to cross paths with the rest of the MCU, but they need some cosmic power on their side. What better, then, than to use this opportunity to introduce Captain Marvel? Not Carol Danvers, who's getting her own solo film which will probably be brill, but the Kree warrior who bequeathed her those powers. He's part of the Infinity Gauntlet comics will inspire the third and fourth Avengers, and he's a sad space man. Interstellar, but with better fighting.
