10 Comic Book Movie Roles Matthew McConaughey Should Play

3. Captain Marvel

According to one writer, the drought of Southern superheroes might have something to do with the real-life Texas State legislature that comes down hard on vigilante crimefighting. It's an interesting theory. And if it holds any water at all, then perhaps in finding a character suitable of Southerner Matthew McConaughey to play, we should look to the stars instead. Avengers: Infinity War is going to bring the mostly Earth-bound superheroes into play on a cosmic scale, with Thanos finally getting his fat arse off that meteor throne and doing some evil deeds himself. Who knows if the Guardians Of The Galaxy are finally going to cross paths with the rest of the MCU, but they need some cosmic power on their side. What better, then, than to use this opportunity to introduce Captain Marvel? Not Carol Danvers, who's getting her own solo film which will probably be brill, but the Kree warrior who bequeathed her those powers. He's part of the Infinity Gauntlet comics will inspire the third and fourth Avengers, and he's a sad space man. Interstellar, but with better fighting.
