Sony PicturesFrom the very moment that fans spotted set pictures of Emma Stone in the same outfit that Gwen Stacy was wearing during her tragic death, speculation soared about director Marc Webb putting her six-feet under. Trailers and TV spots were damning evidence that Gwen wasn't long for this world, seeming to spoil the death that was first printed in The Amazing Spider-Man #121, written by Gerry Conway and drawn by Gil Kane.
MarvelThe major difference here is that it was the Norman Osborn version of the Green Goblin, as opposed to the film version using Harry, as well as the substitution of the Brooklyn Bridge with a clock tower. Ultimately, however, the major push of the scene is all in here; concluding in the same harrowing image of Spider-Man's web-snapping poor Gwen's neck. It's a turn of events that will likely push most of Peter's character development into The Amazing Spider-Man 3 and beyond.
