Based on the indie comic of the same name, created by Bryan Lee O'Malley, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World was a free-spirited, self-referential look at the world of comics and video games.
Oni PressThe climactic scene sees Scott go up against Gideon in his final effort to evolve past his insecurities and get the girl. It's pulled straight from O'Malley's comic, from the deliciously fun use of video game aesthetics to the Japanese anime-inspired sense of combat. It sticks rather close to the source, with only a few subtle differences that don't ever detract from the overall adaptation.
