10 Comic Book Movie Scenes Taken Straight From The Panels

8. Batman Takes On The SWAT Team - Batman: Year One

DCDCIt's difficult to not consider Year One, written by Frank Miller and drawn by David Mazzucchelli, as a standout Batman story. In his decades of existence, Batman was probably never more defined (especially these days) than by that story arc, which made seeing it brought to life in gorgeous animation a very exciting prospect. The film adheres close to the comic that inspired it, but it's the sequence where Batman takes on an entire SWAT team by himself that was the most fun to see. DCDCVariations of the scene have been adapted in Batman Begins, and even Mask of the Phantasm, but it was 2011 straight-to-DVD adaptation that gave us the best on-screen version. It was perfectly brought to life with incredible animation and a strong connection to the source material, including shots that are pulled right from Mazzucchelli's art. The film doesn't stay terribly far from the comic, but this was the scene that you absolutely had to get right. And boy, did they.
