4. Action Comics #1 - Superman Returns
Warner Bros. PicturesWhile it's easily the single greatest cover of all-time, the interior of Action Comics #1 does feature a very exciting sequence where Superman comes in to wreak havoc on a car filled with gangsters, striking this iconic pose. And while Superman Returns wasn't quite the triumphant return for the Man of Steel that WB hoped for, one simply can't deny the awesome power in the scene that features a direct riff on the classic cover.
DCThough the scene doesn't feature Butch and his platoon of underlings, the moment is there, which director Bryan Singer does with grace. Brandon Routh's Superman comes off as looking powerful and real, a stunningly dramatic moment that is only capped off by John Ottman's score. It's a tremendously exciting scene, pulling everything you know about Superman right from that page.
