10 Comic Book Movie Scenes Taken Straight From The Panels

5. Bane Breaks The Bat - The Dark Knight Rises

Warner Bros. PicturesWarner Bros. PicturesThroughout Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy, he was constantly playing with elements from Batman's history, with a lot of it being directly inspired by Year One and No Man's Land. But perhaps his most direct attempt to pull straight from the source was The Dark Knight Rises, which featured Tom Hardy in the performance of a lifetime as Bane. His plan in the film shares a lot of similarities with his first appearances in the comics, the centrepiece being the moment where he breaks the Bat. DC ComicsDC ComicsJust like in the comic, Batman is in no condition to fight this monster, culminating in Bane taking full advantage of him in order to deliver the fatal blow. Nolan does the scene perfectly, whereas the comic was a panel that you could look at and really take in, the moment in the film is quick and sharp. It's painful to watch, an excellent contrast to the scene from the comic and one of the most shocking moments for any fan who went into it with no foreknowledge of Bane's horrific deed.
