Jared Leto’s jump from the Joker into the world of Marvel has become one of the most famous flops in recent years. The movie was hamstrung by poor critic reviews from the start, which translated into an awful box office performance. Even after being released in cinemas a second time, it still took less than $100 million domestically in the US.

If you think about any negative word that could be used to describe a movie, you will likely find it among the sea of poor Mobius reviews from critics. Some of the most popular used were bland, dark, nonsensical, and unnecessary. Honestly, it’s surprising the score is as high as 15%.

Then you look at the audience score, and it is a very respectable and fresh 71%. That figure is certainly skewed somewhat, as there are some reviews that are undoubtedly sarcastic and, for lack of a better phrasing, taking the p*ss, but there are still some that are genuinely positive.

Many fans felt as though the critics were being too harsh on Morbius, and while it was never going to win any awards, it certainly wasn’t near as bad as was made out by the reviews.
