10 Comic Book Movies For People Who Don't Like Comic Book Movies

8. Deadpool

Logan movie
20th Century Studios

Just when we seemed to have given up hope with Deadpool after his reveal in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Ryan Reynold's iconic portrayal was enough to get more than a few stragglers back on board.

Almost pretending like the first iteration of the character never even happened, this meta-humor movie stands as one of the greatest R-rated comedies ever made, with Wade Wilson being as compelling as he is vulgar.

For your average comic book fan, it's nice to see Wade reference older X-Men movies, but the funnier asides come from just the raw charisma Reynolds has in the role.

Taking the more rewarding parts out of the movie though, this script itself is incredibly well-paced, making every single serious scene feel more grounded after going through some of the raunchiest material in the entire superhero genre.

For as morally unbalanced as the merc' with a mouth can be at the best of times, this movie's heart is at least in the right place when it comes to raw fun.
