10 Comic Book Movies For People Who Don't Like Comic Book Movies
4. V For Vendetta
No matter how much you might want to ground something in reality, it's hard to really suspend disbelief when you have seemingly indestructible people settling their differences with nothing but brute force. In the case of V For Vendetta, this is a comic book film that plays on your mind as much as your heart.
Taken from the classic graphic novel, this film does a respectable job putting you in the mind of what is in essence a terrorist.
For as much V for Vendetta may have stoked controversy at the time of its release, this is still one of the boldest societal critiques to ever come from a comic book film, with the character of V making you question where your own hangups about society lie.
In retrospect, the Wachowskis really pulled a right hook on their audience, disguising this intense dissection of corrupt practices as your standard action film.
As we relate more and more with V's character, we start to not only see him as a person, but also understand the mindset that goes into bringing down the more corrupt sides of everyday life. Not an easy movie by any stretch, but one that keeps on giving every time you watch it.
