10 Comic Book Movies That Could Have Been Saved With A Single Tweak

5. Less Emphasis On World Building - Iron Man 2

Iron Man 2 isn't a terrible movie, but given how great the original flick - which starred Robert Downey Jr. as the titular superhero - proved to be, it was a major disappointment for fans who expected to see something spectacular. The problem? Marvel used Iron Man 2 as a means of establishing as many MCU aspects as they could possibly come up with; as a result, it feels more like a tool for expansion than an actual movie. Had Marvel chosen to remove the dozens of inter-references and moments of foreshadowing that are scattered throughout Iron Man 2, the movie might have felt a lot more "whole," as opposed to a collection of loosely-connected scenes. Indeed, the MCU elements that litter the picture might've been swapped out and replaced with scenes that helped to make Mickey Rourke's generic villain, Whiplash, a lot more interesting.
