10 Comic Book Movies That Could Have Been Saved With A Single Tweak

4. Being A Tad Less Faithful To The Source Material - Watchmen

It might seem a little ridiculous to complain that a writer or a director was too faithful to the source material on which their movie was based, but in the case of Zack Snyder's Watchmen, it's totally justified. Presumably in an attempt to win favour with fans of what is arguably the greatest comic book ever written, and to avoid being criticised for making any chances, Snyder pretty much rendered a shot for shot remake. The inherent problem with this, of course, stems from the fact that a comic book isn't a movie, and a movie isn't a comic book; you need to play to the strengths of whatever medium it is you're adapting, and in Snyder's case, his movie was far too rigid and cold and flat because he was so intent on making sure it he didn't betray the comic book. But the movie suffers as a result; being a bit more daring would have paid off.
