10 Comic Book Movies That Completely Ignored The Source

5. Jonah Hex

Jonah Hex One of the things that separates DC Comics movies from Marvel movies is that unlike Marvel, Warner Brothers has all the rights to every DC character. They could make movies based off characters like The Flash, Wonder Woman, or Green Arrow. Which begs the question: why would you make a movie about Jonah Hex?! Hex, being a cowboy in the latter half of the 1800s who hunts criminals, isn€™t interesting enough to warrant his own film. I mean, they altered from just being a guy with a screwed-up face to being a guy with a screwed-up face who can also raise the dead. This movie could have been done well by following the source material and just having Hex fight his nemesis Quentin Turnbull. Supernatural elements were not needed. A bounty hunter with a scarred face hunting Civil War criminals. What€™s not cool about that? What€™s really unusual is that for such a bad movie, it actually had many good actors in it (Megan Fox aside). Unfortunately, this movie has also been one of several failed recent Western movies that has led to the decline of that genre. Do us a favor, DC: stick with the superhero characters that fans actually give a crap about!
