10 Comic Book Movies That Could Be The Next Avengers: Infinity War

6. Avengers: The Kang Dynasty

Kang the Conquerer, somewhat bizarrely, actually falls under the Fantastic Four license owned by 20th Century Fox. This is because the character was first introduced as a Fantastic Four villain, but - as with Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver - the character is equally as, if not more, synonymous with the Avengers. He's tormented them on countless occasions, none more famous than in The Kang Dynasty - a storyline from Marvel writer Kurt Busiek.

Dynasty is often cited as one of the finest Avengers stories of all time, and for good reason. Its premise, which revolves around the villainous Kang (who also comes from the 30th century, I should add) taking over the world. Interesting to note, however, is that he doesn't accomplish this through force alone, but rather by turning the world against each other. He arrives at the UN with his intensions to conquer made explicit (the clue's in the name, after all), but he says it's for the greater good.

Of all the futures the Earth could endure, the one where it survives, so he proclaims, is under his rule.

Kang's devilish machinations are dependent on him dividing the populace, and he does that efficiently. The task to free the Earth then falls to the Avengers, and it leaves them with a uniquely difficult task. They're up against the entire world, and as Kang begins to grow in power by the day, the stakes just get higher and higher.
