10 Comic Book Movies That Could Be The Next Avengers: Infinity War
5. The Kree-Skrull War

Although aspects of the centuries-long Kree-Skrull war will be addressed in 2019's Captain Marvel, it likely won't be to the same extent as it was in the Roy Thomas comic from the early seventies.
To at least a small degree, audiences have felt the influence of the Thomas-Buscema comic in the MCU. It was the story that introduced the Vision-Scarlet Witch romance in the comics, and while it's yielded mixed results since, there's no denying its iconic status, now enshrined in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (albeit under tragic circumstances).
Interesting to note about the storyline is that it really makes the Earth feel well and truly small when compared to the rest of the universe. It's just a stepping-stone in a conflict between two technologically superior alien races and, like Secret Invasion before it, it's not difficult to see next year's Captain Marvel building to a storyline of these proportions.
It's another fish-out-of-water story that has the Avengers hurtling through the cosmos, and while that was somewhat broached in Infinity War, don't be surprised to see them venture further into the galaxy with literature like this to inspire them.
